Satsang 4 Canada, by Param Sant Kanwar Saheb Ji
Throughout history, saints have praised God in different ways. Every great spiritual master regarded the Lord as the ultimate reality and filled their lives with His remembrance, meditation, and glorification. Among them, Saint Namdev Ji was unique in his devotion. His greatness can be understood from the fact that his sacred hymns were included in the Guru Granth Sahib.
Namdev Ji was so deeply immersed in divine love that worldly joys and sorrows could not disturb him. Even when his humble dwelling was destroyed, he remained unaffected. He saw God everywhere and in everything. The essence of his teachings was, “All is God, and nothing exists apart from Him.” Whatever we see in this world is a manifestation of the same Divine Presence.
When a person places complete faith and genuine love in God, the Lord Himself takes care of that person’s life. He helps and guides them through difficulties, often in ways they may not even recognize. The lives of saints are filled with examples of God’s grace, where the Divine revealed Himself and provided guidance during challenging times.
All saints have emphasized the greatness of the Guru. Without a Guru there is no true knowledge, and without true knowledge there can be no spiritual liberation. Even great figures such as Lord Rama and Lord Krishna accepted spiritual guidance, and saints like Kabir Sahib also had a Guru.

This human body is made of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space. The entire creation is formed from these same elements. Saints teach that the universe originated from the Divine Word, and through that Word all creation came into existence. In the end, everything returns to its source.
Human birth is considered precious because all five elements are fully present in this body. Within this very body lies the meeting place of the soul and God. Therefore, instead of searching for God in forests, mountains, or places of pilgrimage, one should seek Him within. The connection between the soul and the Divine Word is established inside.
Saints come into this world to remind people that worldly life cannot provide lasting happiness. Everything here is temporary, and every person is only a traveler for a short time. Yet people become attached to this passing world and mistake it for their permanent home. In reality, each individual must experience the consequences of their own actions and bear their own joys and sorrows.
God is all-powerful. He can turn the smallest thing into something great and reduce the greatest thing to nothing. He can make a beggar into a king and a king into a beggar. Nothing is impossible for Him. Therefore, a person should remember God and pray to Him sincerely. A heartfelt prayer never goes unheard.
The saints teach that God is not confined to temples, mosques, or places of worship. His true temple is a pure and humble heart. He is present everywhere and is aware of every action we perform.

There is a story about a Guru who gave a chicken to each of his two disciples and instructed them to kill it where no one could see them. One disciple returned after completing the task. The other came back with the chicken alive and said, “Master, I could not find any place where no one was watching. Wherever I went, I felt that God was present there. And even if no one else could see me, I could still see myself.”
This is the mark of true wisdom. When a person realizes that God is present everywhere, their entire outlook on life changes. The darkness of ignorance disappears, and the light of understanding begins to shine.
The knowledge given by the Satguru is this very light. When that light enters a person’s life, they begin to understand which actions lead to spiritual growth and which actions bring suffering. Naturally, they move away from wrongdoing and walk the path of righteousness.
For this reason, a disciple’s true welfare lies in following the teachings, guidance, and commandments of the Satguru. When saints say, “All is God,” it is not merely a phrase to be sung—it is a truth to be lived. We should remember Him, meditate on Him, and remain aware of His presence in every moment of life. When this understanding becomes a part of our daily living, our life gradually becomes peaceful, meaningful, and spiritually successful.
